Solar power comes from the sunlight and to some extent, can be stored. This source of power can be used for electricity, heat, and to heat up water. The wonderful part about solar generated power is that it is better for the environment.

Solar energy is generated in a variety of ways. The most popular ways is through solar panels. When the reference is solar energy, this would involve using the sun to gain power to operate electrical things. When the reference is solar power, this might also involve the use of wind mills, wind turbines, and wind pumps in conjunction with solar panels.

Wind mills generally are used so that people can have automatic power. Wind turbines are used for electrical energy. Wind pumps are used for a couple reasons. The pumps can drain water or pump water, and they can generate air for a sail on a ship.

Other fascinating solar energy facts are about some other ways that this source of power is used. It can be used to operate an air conditioner, a mini fan, a larger fan, an electric fence, and it can be used for cooking food.

Some farmers can have a small solar panel hooked up in a field where they keep horses, cows, or other farm animals. The sun generates power through the panels and to the solar batteries (where power is stored), and then it makes the electric fence work.

There are solar generated cooking stoves now to help with food preparation and it saves many people from paying an electric bill every month. It is truly amazing what technology brings to the world. Saving money on electricity and helping the world to have a better environment are the two strongest solar energy facts.
